The Fourth Regional Forum on Judicial Cooperation was held on 6 – 7 December 2022 in Budva.
It was co-organised by the MoJ, IPA 2019 ‘Combating Serious Crime in Western Balkans’ and EUROL 3.
The Regional Forum was attended by representatives of the ministries of justice, of the judiciaries and of the prosecutor’s offices of the WB countries (Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro) with speakers from Italy and Croatia.
EUROL 3 provided support to this event through its co-organisation and contracting the keynote expert speaker Mr. Gualtiero Michelini who delivered a presentation on the topic ‘European standards of judicial cooperation in criminal matters and the countries of the Western Balkan Region’.
The first day of the Regional Forum covered European standards of judicial cooperation in criminal matters and countries in the region, and provided closer information about the organization, structure and manner of the work of EPPO, EUROJUST, EJTN and their cooperation with the countries in the region.
During the second day of the Regional Forum, representatives of the delegations from the region discussed the existing bilateral agreements on judicial cooperation in criminal matters, their current status, difficulties in implementation and possibilities for their eventual amendments and improvements.
