EUROL 3 organized and held a workshop for special state prosecutors, legal and economic advisors in the Special Prosecutor’s Office, and employees of the Financial Intelligence Unit in Podgorica between 4 and 6 March 2024.
The experts Marija Vucko, Deputy County State Attorney in the County State Attorney’s Office in Split and former prosecutor in the Croatian USKOK, and Ante Bilus, Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit in Croatia, participated as lecturers in this workshop.
The objective of this workshop was to acquaint participants with the positive outcomes of teamwork and collaboration between special prosecutors and the Financial Intelligence Unit, in conjunction with the police, in detecting and prosecuting money laundering offenses. The primary focus was on detecting money laundering and underscored the support that the Financial Intelligence Unit can offer in conducting essential financial investigations.
The workshop was well attended, with participants actively engaging throughout, posing specific questions, and comparing practices. This engagement resulted in an exceptionally positive evaluation of the workshop by the participants.
